MACHINE UPTIME

Products & Services

TVC provides more than vibration monitoring.  It's about maximizing your machine uptime and that hits right at the bottom line.  We serve all markets in the USA and the world.

TVC will support your efforts with our growing constellation of companies.  The synergy of our people, products, and services enables TVC to work with you to maximize your machinery uptime, one machine at a time, or on multi-machine projects. Unlike less objective maintenance  philosophies, MACHINE UPTIME brings facility  operations and maintenance together for the shared goal of optimizing machine uptime.  Uptime is  quantifiable and relates directly to your bottom line.  Some say, it's what asset management is all about.

Our Base Is Vibration Monitoring

Monitoring the vibration of machinery, well done, is fundamental to improving & sustaining machine reliability.  We've done that well for many years, but it's far from the only factor.

Improving Machinery Reliability

The Vibration Consortium is gathering a constellation of companies, each with a proven track record in the various products & services  necessary to make continuing improvement in the reliability of your machines.  That's essential to maximize your machine's uptime

Continual Reliability Improvement

For new machines, reliability of machinery starts from the specification and bid evaluation process.  The differences from one vendor's machine to another are judged based not solely on price but on long-term objectives and the likely-hood of meeting company goals for machine productivity.  You may choose to pay a higher price to get more value.

For existing machines, a baseline is established, and goals set with necessary compromises due to machine condition at that point.

For rebuilding machinery, consider adopting the same stringent evaluation process as you have for new machines.

Tearing Down Some Walls

Why is maximizing uptime of process machinery catching the imagination of industry experts?

Because there is great value in developing the process to get the full value of the investment in your machinery.  This shows up in the bottom line and managers love it.

It addresses some industry wide needed reforms.  One example:  operations and maintenance seem to work at odds with each other in too many organizations with apparent walls between them.

A noted consultant, Heinz Bloch, told a story during a speech at a Vibration Institute meeting in Houston about five years ago.  He said a Plant Manager at a large plant in the area called the Operations and Maintenance Managers into his office.  He announced they would be trading jobs sometime in the next six months and would say no more.

Mr. Bloch said that the cooperation,  communications, & attitudes improved almost immediately; later, even some budget sharing.

Looking around, I saw all present with big grins and shaking heads in a silent yes vote.  Everyone!

I asked permission to retell the story.  He said "Certainly. It needs to be told".

And I did, from Houston to Saudi Arabia, to Yokahama.  The reaction to the story is universal.  The walls are everywhere.

What really impresses me about the story: not one person, out of over a thousand, has ever asked what happened when or even if they switched jobs.  NOT ONE!

At The Vibration Consortium, we want to help tear down those walls.
